Dorothea J. Ridgway, 92, of Nevada, Iowa passed away June 18, 2018 at The Madrid Home in Madrid, Iowa. She lived a full and happy life. Dorothea enjoyed playing cards, bingo, reading and traveling. Some of her fondest memories were of her and Carl hosting family and friends at their lake home in Waterville, Minnesota. She was born October 29, 1925 in Moravia, Iowa, the daughter of Archie and Lavenia Main. Dorothea was united in marriage to Carl Ridgway on August 19, 1944 while he was on leave from the Navy. Dorothea is survived by her three children: John and Susan Ridgway of Urbandale, Iowa, Mary Ridgway of Perry, Iowa, Mike and Joan Ridgway of Nevada, Iowa. She was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled for June 30, 2018, 10:30 AM, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia, Iowa. A luncheon will follow. Donations may be directed to Nevada United Methodist Church in Nevada, Iowa.
