Dorothy Mae Lewis, 64, of Nevada, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Dorothy was born May 24, 1952, in Canton, South Dakota, the daughter of Kenneth and Lydia Toft. She graduated from Canton High School in 1970 and attended Nettleton Business College. On October 27, 1973, she was united in marriage to Micheal Lewis. Dorothy worked 41 years as the Deputy Treasurer for Story County. She attended Memorial Lutheran Church and enjoyed camping and attending her grandchildren's activities. Dorothy is survived by her husband Micheal of Nevada; her sons: Brian (Chelsie) Lewis of Nevada and Paul Lewis and fiancé Caitlin Loney of Nevada; her brother Kenneth "Dick" (Willa) Toft of Roanoke, TX; her sisters: Jane Timmermans of Canton, TX and Barbara Babbitt of Bellevue, NE and three grandchildren: Braden and Nathan Lewis and Paige Wilson. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Ed Babbitt. Dorothy has been cremated and a private service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family and will be donated to Dorothy's favorite charities. Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
