Douglas Howard Taylor, age 63, of Maxwell, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 14, 2026. Born April 22, 1962, in Macon County, Illinois, Doug was the beloved son of Harry and Gertrude Taylor. After graduating high school, Doug proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force.

Doug was known for his passion for reading, his love of fishing, and his skillful work on cars. He enjoyed sharing these hobbies with friends and family, always bringing joy to those around him. Doug's warm heart and kind spirit touched everyone he met, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Keith Merriman and wife Jessica; stepdaughter, Dawn Orme; step-sons, Kevin Merriman and partner Cyn Foster, and Daniel Merriman and wife Tannya; grandson, Luke Merriman; and step-grandchildren, Haley Merriman, Kristen Merriman, and Jordan Merriman. Doug was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carl Taylor and Dave Taylor; and sisters, Marianna Taylor and Alice Taylor.
