Edith Mae "Edie" Cooprider, 93 of Nevada, IA, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Story County Senior Care in Nevada, IA.

Edie was born August 21, 1930, in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Joni T. and Anna C. (Yoder) Schrock. She graduated from Hesston Academy, Hesston, Kansas, and was united in marriage to Ross "Donovan" Cooprider on March 9, 1951, in Yoder, Kansas. Edie worked for many years as a secretary for Haven Steel Products in Haven, Kansas.

Edie was a member Journey Mennonite Church in South Hutchinson, Kansas. She enjoyed music, gardening and traveling. She especially loved to bake.

Edie is survived by her children, Doug (Diane) Cooprider of Nevada, IA; Wendy (Lonnie) Leichty of Wayland, IA, Tami (Jace) Vogler of Chippewa Falls, WI and Barry (Holly) Cooprider of Hutchinson, KS; her brother, Ivan Schrock of South Hutchinson, KS; 14 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2014; her brother, Lawrence Schrock; and her sister, Glenna Egli.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 27, 2023, at Journey Mennonite Church (808 S Poplar Street) South Hutchinson, KS, officiated by Howard Wagler. Prior to her memorial service, the burial will be at Yoder Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. Friday, October 27, 2023.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Story County Senior Care, Activities Fund.
