On Wednesday November 16th, 2022, Eileen Faye (Westphal) Schossow passed away at age 77 with her family by her side.
A graveside service for Eileen will be held on Sunday November 20th, 2022 at 1:00 P.M., at Hillside Cemetery located just North of State Center, IA. Memorials may be directed to State Center Rose Festival. Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory is caring for Eileen and her family.
Eileen was born on November 25, 1944 in State Center to Ferdinand Wilham and Myrtle Louis Westphal. Eileen was raised in rural State Center where she later in life met the love of her life Doyal Darwin Schossow. They were wed in marriage on December 10, 1960 in Pomeroy, IA. They welcomed two wonderful sons, Shawn on January 14, 1962 and Shane on July 26, 1964.
Eileen was a proud member of the Midwest Appaloosa Horse Club. She enjoyed going to horse shows with her husband and sons. Eileen worked at Central State Bank for many years. She was also a member of the Red Hat Club and the United Methodist Church. Eileen's greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was best known for her generous spirit, quick witted humor, her kind heart and her special personality.
Eileen is survived by her two sons, Shawn (Lisa) Schossow of Baxter and Shane (Marsha) Schossow of State Center. Grandchildren: Jordan (Cayne) Hobson, Rachel (Stephen) Maguire, Kristine (Colton) Puls, Madeline Schossow, Lauren (Nate) Person, Joseph Schossow, Emily (Colton) Nehring, Brent (Jen) Pettigrew and Mandy (Jay) Pahl. She is also survived by great-grandchildren: Calvin, Charles, Alexander, Caroline, Ryker, Royce, River, Leon, Lucas, Wren, two on the way, Jordan, Ellea, Khloe, Ari, Bray and her sister Ardis Branstine.
Eileen will be missed by everyone she ever encountered in this life. She is proceeded in death by her husband Doyal, parents, in-laws, brother Larry Westphal and grandson Jacob Schossow.
