Elizabeth A.
Collins
January 10, 1957 – March 7, 2026
Elizabeth A. Collins of Round Rock, Texas, passed away March 7, 2026, at age 69.
An avid reader and history buff, Beth enjoyed Jane Austen and Austen fan fiction. She belonged to several associations connected with Little Bighorn, one of her favorite history subjects. Travel and photography were favorite pastimes, and as a photographer she liked capturing candid images of people. She was also an IndyCar fan, having attended two Indianapolis 500 races and events at two other tracks, and she was a member of American Mensa. Beth met her husband of 40 years, Steven, while playing Dungeons and Dragons at Iowa State University, and in recent years had been an active member of the Elder Scrolls Online gaming community. She was a 1975 graduate of Charles City High School in Iowa and later attended Mount Mercy University in the nursing program. Deciding nursing wasn't for her, she attended beauty school in Mason City, Iowa. After completing her training, Beth moved to Ames, Iowa, and worked as a stylist in a Campustown-area salon. She later worked at Bourns, also in Ames, during the early to mid-1980s, serving in many departments and finishing her career with the company as a quality control inspector. After leaving there, Beth's career became homemaker and full-time mom.
She is survived by her husband, Steven Collins; two daughters, Samantha Collins and Gwendolyn Collins; three brothers and one sister, Andy Baldus, Brian (Renelda) Baldus, Karen (Stephen) Clemmons and Jeffrey (Karol) Baldus. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Patricia Baldus.
A private memorial and burial at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery will be held at a later date.
