Elsie Mae Spaid, 90 of Manson, passed away Friday, February 2, 2024, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

Elsie was born May 16, 1933, in Guthrie Center, Iowa, the daughter of Francis and Margaret (Clapp) Anderson. She attended Ames High School and was united in marriage to Jim Spaid on December 1, 1951, in Cambridge. Elsie spent her life as a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family, but especially all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Ames.

Elsie is survived by her children: James L. (Peggy) Spaid of Garden City, Iowa, Jackie (Gary) Trainer of Manson, Iowa, Stanley (Julie) Spaid of Arizona, and Lisa Spaid of Manson, Iowa; her grandchildren: Jami Stupp, Leslie (Shane) Krukow, Danielle (Gary) Graham, Amanda (Ben) Sanderson, Kati (Jesse) Gonzalez, Emily (Seth) Bowen, Jessi (Chad) Capron, Nathan (Carmon) Trainer, Ryan Siebels, Malori (Matt) Khalil, Justan (Delaney) Spaid, and Tristan Novak; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers: Archie, Earl and Leonard Anderson; her sisters: Evelyn Holt, Edith Goeb and Betty Wiese; and two great-grandchildren in infancy.

A visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2024, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada.
