Faith A. Kennedy, 63 of Ames, died Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at the Unity Point Hospital in Marshalltown.
She was born in Fort Dodge, IA on June 29, 1958, to Mariam R. Robbins and Roger L. Bockoven. Faith grew up in Fort Dodge, IA, Leland, MS, Ankeny and Ames, IA. She graduated from Ankeny High School in 1976. After high school she attended DMACC Business College. She worked for several years as a clerk specialist for the City of Ames. Faith also provided childcare in her home for many years.
Faith was known for her sweet giggle and was a blessing and encouragement to all she knew. She loved planning get togethers for the family as she loved a good party. Rocking with her grandkids and the puppies made her especially happy.
Faith was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. She enjoyed serving at her church in the children's ministry. She delighted in watching movies and shows with her friend and fiancée of 14 years, Tony Neesham. She also enjoyed reading, crocheting, and playing Gardens of Time. Faith's many friends are across several states and countries of the world.
Faith was a loving mother, daughter, sister, nana, mother-in-law, and friend to everyone. Faith is survived by her daughter, Joy Denton of Ames, IA, her son, Nicholas Kennedy and his wife Sarah of Elkhart, IA. Mother, Mariam Robbins and stepfather, James Robbins of Ames, IA. Granddaughters, Lillie Kennedy and Daisy Denton of Ames, IA, Grandsons, Liam Kennedy and Anthony Thomas of Elkhart, IA and Gabriel Kennedy of Ames, IA. Fiancée, Tony Neesham of Cambridge, England. Sisters, Hope Arthur of Ames, IA, Stephanie Herron of Ash, NC, and brothers Aaron Bockoven of Camdenton, MO, Jim Robbins of Ankeny, IA and Tom Robbins of Columbia, Mo. She also has many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Faith was preceded in death by her father, Roger L. Bockoven.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. The service will be live streamed via the Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home website for those that cannot attend in
person. Family will greet friends beginning at 1 p.m. until the time of the service. The burial service will follow at the Ames Municipal Cemetery in Ames.
