Flora Deloris (Imsland) Dunahoo, 94, of Nevada, IA passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026, at Mercy One Medical Center in Des Moines. Flora passed peacefully surrounded by her family.

Flora was born August 3, 1932 to her beloved parents Ole and Betsy (Sesker) Imsland and grew up in rural McCallsburg on a farm. She graduated from McCallsburg High School in 1951. She married the love of her life, Carroll Dunahoo, on July 16, 1954, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada. To their union, three children were born: Gregory, Bruce, and Kimberly. They farmed just outside of Zearing for 43 years until moving to Nevada.

For many years, Carroll and Flora filled their time with farming, traveling the world on seed trips, wintering in Scottsdale, AZ, transporting cars for local dealerships, camping at the Iowa State Fair, and going to casinos.

Flora is known for her humor – always cracking jokes and having fun. She truly lived each day to the fullest and lit up every room she was in. She was an avid crocheter, is known for her caramels and ham balls, and loved to play Uno. Above all, Flora cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She showed immense pride for them, sharing wisdom, humor, and encouragement at all times.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son Bruce (Nanc) Dunahoo and her daughter Kim (Keith) Nicholas; grandchildren, Wendy (Donnie) McMillen, Josh Dunahoo, Brittney (Brock) Kimberley, Becca (Jamie) Stonehocker, Morgan Dunahoo, Alex (Alexandra Osborn) Dunahoo, and Martin Nicholas; step grandchild, Kayla (Brett) Tiernan; great-grandchildren, DJ and Andrew McMillen, and Brody and Brecken Kimberley; and step great-grandchildren, Brice and Lydia Tiernan.

Flora is welcomed in heaven by her husband, Carroll, who passed on January 18, 2009; her son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Linda Dunahoo; her parents, Ole and Betsy Imsland; her in-laws, Lloyd and Alice Dunahoo; as well as many extended family members, special friends, and pets.

Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home, 1418 Fawcett Pkwy in Nevada with Pastor David Burling officiating. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg.
