Collins - Forrest R. (Toy) Pointer, 82, passed away January 10, 2007 at the Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames. He was born April 3, 1924 in Collins, Iowa, the son of Harvey Lewis and Pearl Mae (Williams) Pointer. He was united in marriage to Myrtle Haley on March 18, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a veteran of WWII having served with the Navy. Forrest retired as a welder with Solar Aircraft in Des Moines and Williams Cylinder Head in Nevada. He was a former member of the Collins American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle, of Collins, Iowa; a son: Randy & Hahm Pointer of Spring, Texas; a daughter, Judy Nowning of Huxley, Iowa; a brother, Donald Pointer of Collins, Iowa; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers and two sisters.
As per his request, he was cremated and there are no services planned at this time.
Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory in Nevada, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
