Frank Eugene Mitchell 80, of Nevada died Sunday, December 10, 2023.

Frank was born on July 30, 1943, in Nevada, Iowa to Everett and Euphamie (Frank) Mitchell. On March 14, 1965 he was united in marriage to Nora Jane Needham in Greene, Iowa at First Presbyterian Church. Frank grew up in Nevada, graduating from Nevada High School in 1962.

During his employment years, he worked for Jack Vincent Sr., W.E. Myers, joined Ames carpenters' union working for ISU during the summer months, then joined carpenter local 106 in Des Moines working on many jobs in Des Moines and surrounding areas until his retirement in 2002. One of the projects he worked on was Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa.

Frank enjoyed watching sports on TV, going to his grandson's football and basketball games and spending time with family and friends.

Frank was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada, then transferred to Nevada Assembly of God, and then attended Heritage Assembly of God in Des Moines.

Frank is survived by his wife Nora Jane of Nevada; his son, Matthew (Jennie) Mitchell of Des Moines; his daughter, Melanie (Justin) Moore of Huxley; three grandchildren, Michael Mitchell of Des Moines, Jackson and Carter Moore of Huxley; his brother, Chet (Robin) Mitchell of Nevada, and sister-in-law Marian Mitchell of Nevada; several nieces, and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Robert "Bud", Elmer, Clarence, and Harold Mitchell and two sisters: Marjorie Whitehead and Evelyn Jacobson.

A visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. His funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada. A luncheon will follow burial services at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home.
