Fred J. Stevens, 93, of Carroll, formerly of Ames, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Accura Healthcare of Carroll. Fred was born January 7, 1925, the son of Stephen and Barbara (Vasas) Bablonka. He was united in marriage to Mary Lorene Hayden and served three years in the United States Army Air Corps. Fred worked for Federal Mogul Corp. for 21 years, retiring in 1987. Fred is survived by his wife, Mary; and his children: Clark and Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by his parents. In keeping with Fred's wishes, his body has been donated to the University of Iowa. Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
