Gabe Junior Bowlin, 85, of Maxwell, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Good Samaritan Society Care Center in Indianola, Iowa.

Gabe was born November 19, 1937, in Sandyville, Iowa, the son of Gabriel and Flossie (Cruchelow) Bowlin. On May 12, 1972, he was united in marriage to Beverly in Davenport.

Gabe worked as a truck driver for over 35 years and retired from Prairie Meadows after 17 years. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, attending his grandchildren's events and was a member of the American Legion.

Gabe is survived by his children, Tom (Shelly) Bowlin, Gabriel (Sohn) Adams, Ron (Sharon) Bowlin and Mike (Kim) Bowlin; his-step children, Dennis (Andee) Dolph, Carol Heaberlin, Larry Dolph, Ron (LaRae) Dolph and Robert (Catherine) Myers; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Bowlin, his parents, and his siblings: Donald Bowlin, Earl Bowlin, Helen Starbeck, Maxine Pierce, Bessie Bowlin, Betty Bowlin and Mary Louise Bowlin.

A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 27, 2023, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (422 First Street) in Maxwell with Pastor Tom Lee officiating. Family will greet friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
