Gene LaVerne Hubbard Jr., 72 of Colo, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023, at his home in Colo.

Gene was born November 13, 1950, in Jacksonville, FL. He graduated from high school in Denton, IL and attended college specializing in surveying. Gene was united in marriage to Lori French on December 18, 1992, in Ames. He loved to be outside, whether it was hunting or fishing at Hickory Grove or going for a hike. Gene loved all animals, especially his dogs and his pet bird. He was a history buff and enjoyed reading.

Gene is survived by his wife, Lori of Colo; his daughters, Jill (Mike) Storey of Colo and Brandy (Timothy) Brown of Enid, OK; 12 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandchildren, Christina Marie Gray and Jonathan Bough; and his great-grandchildren, Ava May Otta, Bannon Bough and Teagan McKinley.

Gene has been cremated and no services are planned.
