George Richard Kellen, 69, of Baxter, "bought his ticket on May 2, 1946, and decided to get off the ride" November 6, 2015. George was born in Fairmont, Minnesota to Milton and Rose (Nordick) Kellen. He attended Des Moines Lincoln High School and served in the United States Navy. George was an over the road truck driver logging over a million miles. He enjoyed outdoor activities and was a true craftsman. George is survived by his son, Matt Kellen; his daughter, Kim (Bill) Birchette; his step-daughters: Angie (Keb) Barrett and Shawnae Richards; his sisters: Rosemary (Stephen) Lipovac, Deborah (Tom) Lightner and Kathryn (Gaylon) Grantham; and five grandchildren: Cody, Kayla, Austin, Rayann and Abby. He was preceded in death by his wife, Terry. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 9, at the Collins United Methodist Church in Collins. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in the Collins Evergreen Cemetery. Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell is handling arrangements.
