Irven Boozell, 92 of Colo, died Saturday, December 18, 2021, at his home with his family by his side. Irven was born September 4, 1929, in Chariton, Iowa the son of George "Frank" and Margaret (Hickle) Boozell. On November 25, 1950, he was united in marriage to Roberta "Darlene" Morris in Chillicothe, Missouri. Irven worked over 40 years for the Nevada Poultry Company. He loved and cared deeply for his family and friends and would help anyone in need and will always be remembered for being a hard worker, having a great sense of humor and a bit of orneriness. Irven enjoyed camping with his family and mowing yards. He especially enjoyed riding around on his golfcart. Irven is survived by his daughters: Vickie Fredregill of Colo, Kathy (Mark) Larsen of Nevada, Deb Johnson (Harlan Sprecher) of Boone, Cindy (Michael) Sparks of Nevada and Shirley (Bill) McNeece of Pleasant Hill; 17 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; his brother, Lonnie (Judy) Boozell of California; his sister, Betty Breer of Collins; his sisters-in-law, Delores Hemminger of Pennsylvania and Marilyn Danze of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Darlene; a daughter, Julie Boozell; two brothers: Pete and Bob Boozell; a sister, Mary Smith; two sons-in-law, Jerry Fredregill and Komer Johnson Jr.; two grandsons, Joshua Fertig and Kevin Johnson; two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and his beloved Chihuahua, Sadie Marie. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by clicking on Irven Boozell's photo at www.rasmussonfh.com, then tribute wall. Burial will follow at Collins Evergreen Cemetery in Collins. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Face coverings are required at the visitation and funeral service. Refreshments will be served at the Collins Community Center following the graveside committal. Memorial contributions may be made to the Irven Boozell Memorial Fund.
