AMES - James Earl Elliott, 95, of Ames, Iowa, died at his home Thursday, July 12, 2007. James was born near Cambridge, Iowa on January 11, 1912 to Ira & Lottie (Scott) Elliott. He worked at the Ordinance Plant in Ankeny during WWII. He was a farmer and a beekeeper. He was a member of the Cambridge Methodist Church and Iowa Honey Producers.
Survivors include his wife Margaret of Ames; a son and daughter-in-law:Tom and Barbara Elliott of Slater; five daughters and a son-in-law: Maxine Baker of Windsor, CA, Kathryn Yount of Dixon, IL, Shirley Kratoska of Iowa City, IA, Sandra and Duane Thompson of Kelley, IA, and Norma Washington of Nevada, IA; eighteen grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a son: Richard Elliott; three brothers: Ivan, Frank and Leo Elliott; and four sisters: Elva Schuler, Goldie Denny, Edna Rainey and Sylvia Bump.
Services will be held Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 10:30 AM at Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory in Nevada with visitation Friday, July 20th from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Burial will be at the White Oak Cemetery in White Oak, IA.
