James "Jim" Lee Mitchell, 68, of Maxwell passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at the Story County Medical Center in Nevada. Jim was born April 15, 1947, in Des Moines to Neil and Margaret (Dowden) Mitchell. He graduated from Des Moines Technical High School in 1965 and had worked for Plain Talk Publishing, The Printer and Pioneer Hybrid in the printing department. On February 14, 1984, he was united in marriage to Roberta Haub in Las Vegas, NV. Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing. Jim is survived by his wife Roberta "Bertie"; his son, Jimmy Guyer; his daughters: Shelli Guyer, Shannon (Gary) Rose, Deanna Green (Kenny Meusburger) and Lindsey (Eric) McAndrew; his sisters: Carolyn (Craig) Miller and Peggy (Terry) Thompson; twelve grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, John Mitchell. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, February 26, at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell (422 First Street).
