Jan Andrew Stoeffler, 76, of Nevada, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Story County Senior Care in Nevada, Iowa. Jan was born January 29, 1946, in Nevada, Iowa, the son of Irwin and Ruth (Zook) Stoeffler. Jan graduated from Nevada High School in 1965. After graduation, Jan served in the US Air Force for four years. He then attended the Iowa Police Academy. Jan served his community for 30 years as Police Officer prior to retiring. Jan was united in marriage to Marilyn Pugh on July 3, 1982 in Ames, Iowa. Marilyn preceded Jan in death on November 12, 2013. Jan was a member of the American Legion, William F. Ball Post #48 of Nevada. Jan is survived by a daughter: Dru Stoeffler, of Nevada, Iowa; and two sisters: Sue Streeter of State Center, Iowa, and Becky Johnson of Colo, Iowa. Jan was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and four brothers: Ray, Gary, Kent, and Bradley. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in memory of Jan.
