Janis Cook Hennick, 79 of Cambridge, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at the Cambridge Cemetery in Cambridge. Those attending are asked to social distance. Janis was born December 1, 1940, in Des Moines, the daughter of Lester Lawrence and Alice Helen (Nelson) Cook. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1958 and worked for Donnelly's Marketing for over 30 years, retiring from Regulas. Janis loved to be with her family, especially her grandchildren that she often referred to as her "little dollies". Janis is survived by sons: Dean (Tammy) Hennick of Marshalltown and Dale (Laura) Hennick of Cambridge; her grandchildren: Jeanna (Brian) Nation, Kayte (Max) Moore, Brittany, Cory and Brooke Hennick; her great-grandchildren: Logan, Alexa, Claira and Wesley; her brother, Duane (Donna) Cook of Cambridge and her sister, Judy Patterson of Cambridge. She was preceded in death by her parents Memorial contributions may be made to the Cambridge Fire Department in memory of Janis. Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
