Jean 'Tina' Thompson, 64 of Ames, formerly of Maxwell, died Saturday, March 5, 2022, at her home in Ames. Tina was born July 31, 1957, in Des Moines, the daughter of Larry and Phyllis (Miller) Cassaday. She graduated from Independence High School in 1975 and attended AIB, she then went on to work for Iowa State University as a room scheduler for over thirty years. On September 3, 1983, Tina was united in marriage to Keith Thompson. Tina liked music and traveling, taking many memorable trips through the years. She also loved being outside, gardening or tending to her flowers. Tina was always there for her family. She will be remembered for her warm and caring smile and her positive outlook on life. Tina is survived by her significant other, Craig Book of Ames; her son, Jacob Thompson of Maxwell; her daughter: Cassidi Thompson of Maxwell; her grandchildren, Marlow and Eva Thompson, her sister; Heidi (Kevin) Tudor of Independence and her brothers, Steve Cassaday of Independence, and Doug Carol Cassaday of Independence. Tina was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Keith. A Celebration of Life will be 4 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2022, at the Maxwell Community Center (84 Main Street) in Maxwell.
