Jean Anne Weir, 90, of Colo died at Story County Medical Center December 11, 2020. Jean Anne Marsh was born in her grandmother's home near Collins, IA on October 14, 1930, the second of eight children born to Curtis and Alice (Heintz) Marsh. Jean was baptized in the Collins Methodist Church and joined the Colo Methodist Church soon after the family moved to Colo in 1944. She graduated from Colo High School in 1948 and married Ray Weir in 1949. Ray and Jean were married for 58 years. Jean worked at what was then the Iowa State Highway Commission, the Farmers Grain Elevator, and next to her husband in the family businesses Weir's Trucks and Weir's Real Estate and Insurance. She was a proud 1974 Iowa State University graduate. She was active in many community and bridge clubs. She and Ray enjoyed golf and a few winters in New Mexico and Arizona. Jean is survived by her children Marcia (Monte) Nilles of What Cheer, IA, Randy (Carolyn) Weir of Marshalltown, IA, Ben (Margaret) Weir of Colo, IA. Grandchildren Mari Ann (Owen) Heires, Chad (Jada) Weir, Stephanie Weir, Tiffany (Jon) Anenson, Kim Dewitt, Jeremy (Alissa) Dewitt, Michelle (Joe) Turano. Great grandchildren Tristan, Brooke, Caleb, Everly, Matannah, Micaiah, Hunter, and Ferrah. She is also survived by her sisters Kathy (Carmen) Maxwell and Marilyn (Steve) Barger and many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers Curt, Jim, Fred, and Lewis and sister Judy Dunshee. With no services planned, memorials may be made to Colo United Methodist Church, Colo Public Library, or Colo Fire and Rescue.
