Jeffrey "Butch" Lynn Troup, 56 of Nevada, died Thursday, April 21, 2022, Story County Medical Center in Nevada, Iowa. Butch was born May 28, 1965, in Nevada, the son of Donald "Ray" and Sharel Ann (Robertson) Troup. He graduated from Maxwell High School in 1983 and worked for GFS as a press operator for 30 years. Butch was an avid sports fan, his favorite teams included the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins, the Philadelphia 76'ers and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He especially enjoyed WWE wrestling, playing cards with friends and spending time with his family. Butch is survived by his parents, Ray and Sharel Troup of Maxwell; his brother Tom (Saundra) Troup of Jewell; his sisters, Donna Troup of Maxwell and Sharie Bellnap of Nevada; his nephews and nieces: Jorge (Alex) Covarrubias, Danielle (Terry) Warford, Jordan Troup, Cassie Troup, Ashleigh (William) Glauner and Johnathon Andrew; two great-nephews and two great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Verle and Ruby Robertson and paternal grandparents Elton and Mary Conner and Harry Troup. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Story County Animal Shelter or Collins-Maxwell Schools memory of Butch A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Maxwell Legion Hall in Maxwell, Iowa.
