Jerry Sager, 82 of Collins, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at his home in Collins. Jerry was born September 11, 1935, in Colo to Joseph and Maude (Vasey) Sager. On June 5, 1955, he was united in marriage to Carol Ann Hays at the Farrar United Methodist Church. Jerry was a carpenter for Midwest Builders until 1992. He then went to work for Budget driving moving trucks until 2016. Jerry had been a member of the Lions club, the Collins Fire Department and had served on the Collins City Council. He enjoyed woodworking, making games and birdhouses. Jerry is survived by his son, Steve Sager of Newton; his daughters: Julie (Frankie) Courter of Collins and Elizabeth Corbin of Maxwell; five grandchildren: Gary (Debra) Courter, Jerry Courter, Brandie (Josh) Chevalier, Russell (Beth) Blacksmith and Joshua Corbin; and eleven great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his brother, Charles Sager; his sister, JoAnn Koch; and a grandson, Andrew Corbin. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, November 20, at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell with burial to follow at Collins Evergreen Cemetery in Collins. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in memory of Jerry. Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell is handling arrangements.
