Jerry White, 90 of Maxwell, died Saturday, December 25, 2021, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada. Jerry was born August 25, 1931, in Perry, Iowa the son of James Harper and Coral Arlee (Patterson) White. He graduated from Maxwell High School in 1951 and was united in marriage to Barbara Kay Dunlap on July 17, 1955, at the Farrar United Methodist Church. Jerry was a member of Peoria United Methodist Church and Loring United Methodist Church. He worked for John Deere in Ankeny as a crane operator from 1964 until his retirement in 1990. Jerry served as president of the Maxwell Historical Society and enjoyed traveling and woodworking. Jerry is survived by his son, Todd (Michelle) White of Maxwell; his daughter, Lesia (Kelly) Vaughn of Maxwell; three grandchildren: Jennifer (Steve) Grillot, Shane White and Ricky White; two great-grandchildren: Charlie and Henry Grillot; his sister, Ona (Steven) Siporin of Logan, UT; and his brother, Joe White of Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jim White; his wife, Kay White; his sister, Mary (Kenton) Viers and Dana (Harvey) Shaeffer; and his nephew, Dov Siporin. A visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Maxwell Community Center in Maxwell, Iowa. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022, following the memorial service there will be a luncheon. Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Maxwell is handling arrangements.
