Jill Maureen (Mogard) Paullus, 45 of Ames, Iowa, joined Jesus in Heaven on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Jill was born June 16, 1978, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Kevin and Connie (Cahill) Mogard. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1996 and earned her bachelor's degree from UNI in 2000. On June 29, 2002, Jill was united in marriage to Andrew Paullus in Marshalltown. She worked for the Navigators (2000-2002) and at Cornerstone Church in Ames as the Women's Ministry Director (2002-2012). In 2016 Jill became the manager of State 35 CrossFit.

Jill loved everything about staying fit and healthy and thoroughly enjoyed coaching at State 35 CrossFit. She was an avid fan of the Iowa State Cyclones (she bled red and gold!) and the Chicago Cubs. She loved to be outdoors spending time with family and enjoyed summertimes at Sun Valley Lake. Cooking and baking were her passions, making those 2 activities look so easy. Above all, Jill knew and loved the Lord, spending time every day in His Word, facilitating Bible studies (especially with Iowa State women's sports groups), and sharing Jesus with so many.

Jill is survived by her husband Andy of Ames; her children Jaida (14) and Trace (10), both at home; her parents Kevin and Connie Mogard of Ames; her brother Mike (Emily) Mogard of Ames; her paternal grandmother Jane Mogard of Marshalltown; her in-laws Steve and Anne Paullus of Marshalltown; her sister-in-law Leah (Mark) Bethel of Ames; and her nieces and nephews, Miah, Jaimon, Calla, Zion, Zara, Baby Mo (due in Sept.) Cece, Charlie, Grace and Lizzie as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Homer Mogard and her maternal grandparents Henry and Dorothy Cahill.

A visitation will be held from 3-7 P.M. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Cornerstone Church (56829 US-30) in Ames. A celebration of Jill's life will begin at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, (also at the church) with burial to follow at the Ames Municipal Cemetery in Ames. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Jill may be made to one of the following: State 35 Fitness in Ames, Iowa State Women's Athletics, or to her family for a later designation.
