Long time Nevada, Iowa resident John Earl White 81 passed away on November 13th, 2022 at Rolling Green Village due to natural causes.

He was born March 26, 1941 in Osceola, TX. His parents were John Dumas White and Lois Mae Brown. John has a full brother Tommy Lee White. Lois remarried in 1964 to John Theodore Handsaker bringing 4 step brothers..John graduated from Nevada high school in 1960 and joined the Army in 1966 where he served two years. He was working at the Ames, Iowa USDA when he met Kathleen Sue (Allen) Kelderman whom he married twice, once in 1982 and once in 1990. New Year's Eve 2018 he fell down his steps at his home in Nevada, IA and broke his hip. It was three days until he was found and taken to the hospital. After rehabilitation, he moved to an assisted living place in Oklahoma City to be closer to his brother. Due to declining health and increasing needs, he relocated back to Ames, IA in 2020 and then to Rolling Green Village nursing home in Nevada, IA in 2021.

He is survived by: Two adopted children Anthony (spouse Sheryl) Cooper of Hayward, CA and Joseph Kelderman of Nevada, IA. 4 Grandchildren. Full brother Tommy (spouse Rachel) White of Oklahoma City, OK. Step brothers John Richard Handsaker, Ronald D. Handsaker, Mark Lynn Handsaker, and Bruce Allen Handsaker. And many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by: Wife Kathleen Sue (Allen) Kelderman 1946-2006, Mother Lois Mae Brown 1920–1992, Father

John Dumas White 1918–1963 and step father John Theodore Handsaker 1917–2005.

John did not desire any services and was cremated on November 14th, 2022. In accordance with his wishes his ashes will be scattered with his late wife's ashes.
