Joseph Thomas Duran, 57, of Colo, Iowa, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023, at his home.

Joseph was born April 18, 1966, in Sterling, Illinois, the son of Ventura and Guadalupe (Martinez) Duran. Joseph graduated from Central Bible College with a bachelor's degree in ministry. He was united in marriage to Kathryn Hill on October 10, 1998, in the Colo United Methodist Church. Joseph loved being a fan of the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Kathryn, of Colo, Iowa; three daughters: Kasandra Duran of Ames, Iowa, Emmalee Duran of Delavan, Wisconsin, Jessica Duran of Colo, Iowa; his father: Ventura Duran of Rock Falls, Illinois; and his brother: Jesse Duran of Sterling, Illinois.

Joseph was preceded in death by his mother, and his sister, Catherine Sewell.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned currently.
