Joyce Katherine Peter, 62 of Ames, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames surrounded by her loving family.

Joyce was born December 11, 1961, in Webster City, Iowa the daughter of Gary R. and Katherine Joanne (Brittian) Burnett. She graduated from high school in Fairmont, MN and spent over 32 years in healthcare. Joyce was united in marriage to Kyle Peter on July 2, 1983, at Salem Lutheran Church in Roland.

Joyce enjoyed line dancing, playing Farkle and BINGO and watching her crime shows on tv. She especially loved the sun and being outside.

Joyce is survived by her children Vanna (Terence) Beaston of Nevada and David Peter of Zearing; her mother Katherine Burnett of Ames; her grandchildren Trice, Tenley and Tava Beaston and Daityn and Karsyn Peter; and her brother Jeff (Cindy) Burnett of Sherburn, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband Kyle and her father Gary Burnett.

A celebration of Joyce's life will be 3-5 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. Private family burial will be at the Roland Cemetery in Roland.
