Judith "Judy" Marie Couture, 73 of Clive, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada.

Judy was born March 23, 1949, in Iowa City, the daughter of Glenn Waldo and Myra Trisler (Newbolt) Van Horne. She graduated from Iowa City High School and from Iowa State University. Judy married Stephen Couture in 1973. They lived in Springfield, VA for many years before they returned to Iowa in the 1990s.

Judy loved collecting Hummels and Steiff Bears and had a vast collection of both.

Judy is survived by her mother-in-law, Ina Couture; her brothers-in-law, Larry (Kristi) Couture, Mike Couture, Tom Couture, Jim (Leslie) Couture and John (Cindy) Couture; her sister-in-law, Shirley (Jerry) Williams; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Judy wished for her body to be donated to the University of Iowa. She will be laid to rest at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
