Julie Kay Courter, 63 of Collins, died Sunday, May 2, 2021, at her home. Julie was born December 26, 1957, in Des Moines, the daughter of Jerry Dean and Carol Ann (Hayes) Sager. She married Frankie Ray Courter at the Farrar United Methodist Church on July 6, 1974. Julie worked for Lennox in Marshalltown over 15 years. More than anything, her family was important, and she loved to support her grandchildren in all their sports. Julie is survived by her husband, Frankie of Collins; her children: Gary (Deb) Courter of Andrew, Jerry Courter of Collins, and Brandie (Josh) Chevalier of Collins; her grandchildren: Garrett Houston, Vanessa, Faith and Erin Courter, Urijah and Bristol Courter and MaKenzee and Declan Chevalier; her brother, Steve Sager of Newton; and her sister, Beth Corbin of Collins. She was preceded in death by her parents. A visitation will be noon until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5 at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (422 First Street) in Maxwell and a short service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be at the Collins Evergreen Cemetery in Collins. A Celebration of Life will follow the graveside service at the Rhodes Bar in Rhodes. Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Maxwell is handling arrangements.
