June Maxine Houck passed away July 24, 2015, in Pleasant Hill, Iowa. June was 99 years young. June was born June, 21, 1916 in Golf, Kansas, the daughter of Rollie and Mary Ellen (Fosgate) Cox. In June of 1937, June married Kirby Deeds and they had a daughter, Karen Marie. In 1946, June married Lewis Houck and they resided in Des Moines, Iowa, where she was employed in the bindery department of Meredith Publishing Company. June also volunteered at the VA Hospital in Des Moines for many years. June is survived by her daughter: Karen Conner; a grandson: Mark (Deanna) Conner; four great-grandchildren: Mark Conner, II, James Ray Conner, Madisen Sabatino, Cole Conner; her sister: Creta Bishop; two nephews: Donald (Karen) Cox, Randy (Sandy) Meier; and two nieces: Brenda (Brian) Alleman, and Saundra Rush. June was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lewis in 1975; and a brother: Burton Cox; and every loving animal she ever care for. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Center Grove Cemetery near Cambridge, Iowa. The Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell is handling arrangements.
