Karen Smith, 82 of Nevada, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023, at State Center Specialty Care in State Center.

Karen was born June 12, 1941, the daughter of Clint and Lila Lauder. Following her high school graduation, she married Ronald Smith on May 29, 1960, at Cottage Grove Church near Iowa Falls. Karen was a homemaker, caring for her husband and children.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Appelgate of Nevada and her grandchildren, Clint Appelgate of Nevada, and Samantha Appelgate of Nevada. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2009, and her son, Roy Smith.

Karen has been cremated and no services are planned.
