Kathy Sue Erickson, 76 of Nevada, died Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Windsor Manor in Nevada. Kathy was born September 30, 1945, in Ames, Iowa the daughter of Darrell LeRoy and Josephine (Wilson) Myers. She graduated from Maxwell High School in 1963 and was united in marriage to Donald Eugene Erickson on October 28, 1963, at the Maxwell Presbyterian Church. Kathy worked for Hach Chemical in Ames for 25 years, retiring in 2000. Kathy loved to read and while living in Cambridge, she served on the library board. She was an excellent cook and was always busy doing some sort of craft. She enjoyed camping and spending time at their house on Thunderhead Lake in Missouri. More than anything, she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kathy is survived by her husband Don of Nevada; her children: Roxann Erickson of Ames, Donald Jr. (Julie) Erickson of Harlan and Debbie (Karl) Koepp of Colo; her grandchildren: Sarah (Brandon) Burmeister, Jordan Troup, Cassie Troup, Mitchell (Ashley) Hadaway, Mikaela Hadaway and Nicholas Hadaway; her great-grandchildren: Gavin, Aubrey and Lyndee Burmeister; and her sisters, Mary Achey of Ames and Tina (Mike) Dahlke of Cambridge. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: Thomas and Kevin (in infancy) and John Myers; her granddaughter, Rachel Erickson; and her beloved dog, Jimmy. A visitation will be Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2022, also at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Suncrest Hospice or to the Greater Iowa Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
