Kay Delores Clark, 88, of Ames passed away peacefully Saturday February 18, 2023, at Arbor Springs Memory Care, in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Kay was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on the 26th of March 1934 to parents Kenneth & Ottilia (Walter) Kimmel. She grew up in Lincoln, attending Lincoln High School and the University of Nebraska. She met the love of her life, Tracy Clark, while attending college and they were married on the 28th of September 1954, on her parents' 30th anniversary. Tracy completed college and the growing family moved to Ames, Iowa where they made their home for the next fifty plus years. When her family was young, she was active in her church serving the elderly. Kay worked for many years at the Iowa State University library retiring in 1992. She enjoyed square and round dancing, volunteering at Reiman Gardens, and traveling and spending time with her family. After retirement, Kay and Tracy wintered in Arizona for more than twenty years and made many close friends during that time. Kay loved taking walks, pruning plants, books and reading to her grandchildren and was often humming a tune as she went about the business of raising her family.

Survivors include Tracy (Mary) Clark, Jr of Playa del Ray, California, Ken (Julie) Clark of Waukee, Iowa, Tom (Karleen) Clark of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and Christy (Perry) Hadaway of Ames, Iowa; nine grandchildren: Jared Clark, Aleah (Shawn) Siefkas, Chad (Katie) Hadaway, David (Jessica) Clark, Tracy (Catie) Clark III, Tony Hadaway, Chelsey Clark, Anna (Casey) Frey and Alex Clark; and five great grandchildren.

Kay was preceded in death by her husband Tracy, her parents and her two sisters Patricia Reifschneider, and Anna Jean Ross.

A visitation will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 1:00 - 2:00 pm at the Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Parkway, Nevada, Iowa). A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada, Iowa. A private Inurnment will follow the service at Ames Municipal Cemetery.
