Keith Sambos, 51 of Huxley, died on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines. Keith was born in Ames, Iowa, on January 4, 1971, the son of Gust "Gus" and Judy (Heggen) Sambos. He grew up in Ames and met his wife, Ronda Lock, they were married on August 21, 2018, in South Dakota. Keith was a member of the First Christian Church in Ames. He was a volunteer fire fighter for Kelley Westory Fire Department and a member of the Ames Jaycees. He always enjoyed listening to Toby Keith and The Beach Boys. In his spare time, he enjoyed Legos, video games and taking his kids to the farm. Keith's family was important to him and enjoyed giving all the kids a hard time. Keith is survived by his wife, Ronda of Huxley; his mother: Judy Koplin of Ames; his children: Alexandrea Marie (fiancé Michael) Denton of Ames, Ethan Roney of Boone, Trever Roney of Algona, Kimberly (Will) Dobbins of Des Moines and Amy (fiancé Todd Foglesong) Patterson of Ames; his grandchildren: Zorah, Nicklas and Lucas; his sister: Eileen Katherine Sambos of Ames. Keith is preceded in death by his father Gust Sambos, his grandparents: Arlo and Edna (Nelson) Heggen, his step-father: Henry (Bob) Koplin and his uncle Arthur Heggen.
