Obituary

Kenneth Douglas Larkin, 76, of Cambridge, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019, at his home near Cambridge. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 27 at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 28 at Nazareth Lutheran Church (517 Vine Street) in Cambridge with Pastor Marcia Kisner officiating. Burial will follow at Center Grove Cemetery near Cambridge. Kenny was born December 26, 1942, in Des Moines, the son of Glenn and Alice (Jenks) Larkin. He graduated from Maxwell High School in 1960 and was united in marriage to Judy Ann Michael on November 27, 1959 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater. Kenny farmed all his life near Cambridge, living on the same farm since he was two years old. Kenny was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cambridge and had served on the church council and as past president of the church. He was currently serving as the treasurer of Center Grove Cemetery near Cambridge. His hobbies included hunting and reading about history. Kenny loved to spend time with his family and especially enjoyed watching his granddaughters play sports. Kenny is survived by his children: Wendy (Randy) Dubberke of Cambridge and Douglas (Holly) Larkin of Cambridge; his grandchildren: Lerin (Jake) Hermanson, Alanna Dubberke, Taylor (Skyler) Olson and Emily (Adam) Luke; two great-grandchildren: Kennedy Olson and Ava Luke and his sister, Barb Breer of Ankeny. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife. Memorial contributions may be made to Center Grove Cemetery in memory of Kenny.
