Kirk Allen Henderson, 67 of Maxwell, died Thursday, November 3, 2022, at his home near Maxwell.

Kirk was born March 1, 1955, in Nevada, Iowa the son of Leslie Thomas and Dorothy-Jean (Boyd) Henderson. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1973. Kirk enjoyed owning Henderson Construction and Trucking for many years. He also enjoyed spending his free time outdoors and tracking the weather. Kirk was an avid NASCAR fan, spending many weekends with friends at the Newton Speedway.

Kirk is survived by his son, Adam (Krystal) Henderson of Altoona; his daughter, Brenna (Eric) Peterson of Ames; eight grandchildren; and his brothers, Gary (Linda) Henderson of Ankeny, Paul (Francy) Henderson of Windsor, CO, and Dennis (Denise) Henderson of Nevada. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Linda Henderson.

A celebration of Kirk's life will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in memory of Kirk.
