Daniel Lee Dadisman, age 90, of West Des Moines and formerly of Nevada, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Arbor Springs in West Des Moines.
Lee was born May 17, 1936, in Fernald, Iowa, the son of Lloyd and Irene (Wise) Dadisman. He graduated from Fernald High School in 1954 and earned his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Arts from McPherson College in Kansas. He worked 2 years in alternative service. On July 18, 1959, Lee was united in marriage to Dorothy Anne Blough.
Lee and Dorothy moved to Illinois, where Lee worked on a dairy farm and raised corn and hogs. In 1970, they bought his dream farm in rural Nevada, Iowa where they raised their family and grew grain, hay, pigs, and sheep. In 2019 they moved to The Lodge of Ashworth in West Des Moines.
Lee served on the Marshall REC and Consumer Energy Board for many years. He also served on the Heartland Co-op Board and sold Archer Oil and Middlekoop Seed Corn. Lee was a member of Colo United Methodist Church and served as Financial Secretary. He was a member and treasurer of the Ames FGBMFI.
Lee was a 4H leader for many years. He enjoyed woodworking and gardening, especially growing sweet corn and popcorn. In retirement, he enjoyed puzzles, reading, and playing pool on the table he built. He will be remembered for his witty personality and for the joy he found in joking around.
Lee is survived by his wife, Dorothy of West Des Moines; his children, Rev. Jeff (Susan) Dadisman of Davenport and Scott (Jody) Dadisman of West Des Moines; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Christopher (Adrienne) Dadisman and their children, Nyah, Eliza, Hazel, Joshua, Ariana and John, Andrew (Theresa) Dadisman and their children, Mikaiah, Ellyssa and Zechariah, Karissa (Bryan) Beck, Danielle Dadisman, Mark (Brikenya) Dadisman and their daughter, Seraph, Kyle (Mia) Dadisman and their children, Freya and Callan, Lynae Dadisman and her son, Winter Van Den Top, and Bethany Dadisman. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Judy Dadisman of CA, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Amy Dadisman; his brother, Charles Dadisman; and his sister, Dorothy Sowers.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home, 1418 Fawcett Pkwy, in Nevada. Family will greet friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. A reception will follow the service, along with burial at Murphy Cemetery in rural Nevada.
Memorials may be made to Colo United Methodist Church or to Mainstream Living in Ames.
