NEVADA - Leslie D. McDaniel, 37, of Nevada, died Sunday, February 26, 2006 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Leslie was born September 10, 1968 in Sterling, Illinois and was the son of Dr. Gerald and Judy (Havard) McDaniel. He graduated from Colo-Nesco High School in 1988. Leslie was a painter with Holland Painting. He enjoyed music and drawing. Leslie loved his nieces and nephews. Leslie is survived by his father and step-mother: Dr Gerald and Barb McDaniel of Nevada, IA; his mother and step father: Judy and Wendell Hagen of Minneapolis, MN; a sister: Stephanie (Ben) McDaniel-Richards of St. Paul, MN; two step sisters: Cindy (Mike) Phelan of Story City, IA, Catherine (Geoff) Hubbard of Sioux City, IA; his grandparents: Len and Elaine Ahlquist of Nevada, IA, Kathryn Havard of Osceola, IA; and six nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Life of Ames. The Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory is handling arrangements.
