Obituary

Linda Marie Enghausen, 68, of Urbandale, formerly of Nevada, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Linda was born September 2, 1955, in Clarion, Iowa, the daughter of Marion and Doris (Christensen) Enghausen. She attended Dows Community School until third grade when her parents moved to Nevada, Iowa. She was confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg, Iowa on June 14, 1970.

Linda attended Nevada Community Schools, graduating with the class of 1973. She Then attended Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Iowa enrolling in the one-year secretarial program, graduating in 1974. Linda began her career working for the State of Iowa in several different positions. From there she began her career adventure working for serval different law firms in the Des Moines area. Her latest position was with Dickinson Law Firm.

Linda enjoyed scrapbooking, sewing, quilting, and gardening. She was a member of several quilting guilds in the Des Moines area and enjoyed attending monthly meetings in Huxley, Iowa. She enjoyed sharing her quilting with her mother, sister, niece, and her great nephews, making a quilt for one of the great nephews for his bed. Linda loved attending the Iowa State Fair every year. She had most recently been elected president of The Oak Brook Homeowners Association for which she had served on the board before. Linda also had a love for cats which stemmed from having multiple cats on the farm that she grew up on with her parents and sister.

Linda is survived by her mother Doris of Nevada, her sister Lori (Alan) Sly of Hampton, her niece Kayla (Michael) Norman of Hansell and great nephews, Kohen and Weston. Linda is also survived by her special friend, Robert White of Urbandale. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Marion in 1981. Her three aunts, her paternal grandparents, and her maternal grandparents, her two beloved cats, Prancer in August 2023, and Lightening in December of 2023.

A visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. Her memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home officiated by Pastor Nikoli Falenschek.
