MAXWELL - Linda Ann McClain, 60, of rural Maxwell died at her home, Sunday, January 29, 2006 from congestive heart failure. Linda was born February 5, 1945 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Robert and Florence (Peterson) Townsend. She was united in marriage to Larry McClain on June 8, 1962 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Linda had worked 18 years for the Iowa Department of Revenue as a Taxpayer Specialist. Linda enjoyed flower gardening, horses, and enjoyed going out to eat. Linda is survived by her husband, Larry, of Maxwell; a daughter: Christy McClain of Maxwell; a son: Robbie McClain of Maxwell; and her mother-in-law: Ethelyn McClain of Des Moines, Iowa. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Justin McClain; a brother: Ronnie Peterson, and a sister: Sharon Patten. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery at Iowa Center, Iowa. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the funeral service. Memorials may be made to the Peoria United Methodist Church. The Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory in Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
