NEVADA - Lois M. Carver, 97, died Sunday, April 8, 2007 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 12th at 11:00 AM the Nevada First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with visitation Wednesday 6:30-8:30 PM at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Burial will be in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.
Lois was born January 20, 1910 in Nevada, Iowa to parents William and Melvana (Holder) Farrington. She attended school in Nevada. On August 24, 1929, she was united in marriage to Orlando "Frank" Carver in Webster City, Iowa. Frank preceded her in death in April of 1955. Lois was employed as a cook at R.H. Donnelley for 19 years. She volunteered at Story County Hospital during her retirement years. Lois was a member of the Nevada First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and enjoyed sewing and baking. She is survived by her extended family, Ronald & Leanne Farrington, Haley and Logan of Nevada; Ernest and Yvonne Freeman, Arlene Beaman, Maxine Gatewood and Duane & Beverly L'Hommedieu.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five brothers: Guy, Virgil, Lowell, William "Lyle" and Ray Farrington; two sisters: Iva L'Hommedieu and an infant sister, Thelma.
