Louella "Lou" Elizabeth (Holmes) Anderson, 65 of Boone, died Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Accura Healthcare of Ames. Lou was born May 13, 1956, in Boone, the daughter of Raymond and June (Woodruff) Holmes. She was a homemaker and enjoyed puzzles, playing Bingo, and sewing. Lou was a great cook and had a love for animals, especially cats. She was called grandma by many, whether they were related by blood or not. Lou was always there for her family or anyone that needed her. Lou is survived by her daughters: Cindi (Jeff) Stokes of Tennessee, Shanna (Eddy) Blankenship of Nevada and Christina Anderson (Nicky Zeiher) of Boone; her siblings: Ernie (Kim) Holmes of Waterloo, Donald Holmes of Boone, Husie Holmes (Bryan Stowe) of Cambridge, Helen (Tim) Shearer of Casey, Paul Holmes of Texas, Melody Young of Webster City, Tom (Billi Jo) Holmes of Stanhope and Nancy Hunter of Wisconsin; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Melissa Taylor; her grandson, Daniel Johns; her brothers: William, Wendell and Mike Holmes; and her sisters: Lila Silva, Rose Holmes and Chris Hunter. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada.
