LuAnn Kay Stowe, 65, of Marshalltown, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019, at MercyOne in Des Moines. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 23, at Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg with Pastor Kathy Sandmann officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be at the Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg. LuAnn was born September 11, 1953, in Eldora, the daughter of LaVerne William and Orene Grace (Fincham) Osmundson. She graduated from Colo High School in 1971 where she threw shot put for the track team. LuAnn then moved to Marshalltown where she worked for the Iowa Veteran's Home for 25 years. She went back to college at MCC, and then went to work as a social worker for CIRSI. LuAnn enjoyed spending time with family and friends and traveling when she could. She loved animals, especially her dog Gizmo. LuAnn is survived by her son, Ryan (Crystal) Stowe of Denver, CO; her grandchildren: Jack and Finnian; and her sisters: Tammy (Jim) Greer of North Carolina and Shirlene (Don) Brendeland of Huxley. She was preceded in death by her parents: Orene and Lavern; her brothers: Lynn and Larry Osmundson; and her dog Gizmo.
