Maida Lynn Peterson, age 70 of Ankeny, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025. She was born on July 8, 1954, in Maryville, MO.

Maida's educational journey began in Stanbury, MO, where she graduated from high school in 1972. She attended college in Maryville, MO, earning a bachelor's degree in Home Economics.

On June 30, 2010, Maida married Marc Peterson at the Nevada First United Methodist Church, solidifying a loving partnership.

Throughout her professional career, Maida worked at ADP, Burke Marketing, and the National Farming Organization (NFO), contributing her skills and dedication to each role. At home Maida was active in the Methodist church for many years through teaching, singing, cooking, and more. She was also a passionate quilter and baker, often mixing the two by catering for quilting retreats.

Maida's family was the center of her life. She is survived by her husband Marc, her children Chris Peterson, Alex (Sherry) Peterson, and Katie (Jeremy) Richardson; her step-child Corey (Shannon) Gilkerson; her grandchildren Abby Peterson, Carter Richardson, Rylee Richardson, Corissa Gilkerson (partner Aaron Harding), Sheldon Gilkerson (fiancée Lindsey Langley), Shane Gilkerson, Penelope Gilkerson; her Great-grandchildren Auden and Aicain Harding, and a great-grandson expected in June; her sister Jeannie (Bill) Cochell. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Andrea Peterson, and four sisters.

A service honoring Maida's life will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at the Lincoln Center Cemetery in Corning, IA.
