Marilyn Ruth Marrs, 79 of Collins, died Tuesday, September 9, 2020, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada. Marilyn was born June 11, 1941, in Rockford, Iowa the daughter of John Alfred and Emma Johana (Ficken) Kitch. She graduated from Rockford High School in 1959 and was united in marriage to Jim Eugene Marrs on March 15, 1959 in Rockford. Marilyn was a member of the Collins United Methodist Church and enjoyed quilting, sewing, ceramics, playing the organ and knitting. She especially loved traveling with Jim in their RV. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jim of Collins; her children: Penny (John) Schrieber of Dexter, Mark (Angela) Marrs of Ottumwa, Debbie Marrs of Apache Junction, AZ, Meladee (Dennis) Steele of Woodward and A.J. (Jennifer) Marrs of Urbandale; her brother, John (Jackie) Kitch of Carroll; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Dayle Kitch. A celebration of Marilyn's life will be held June 12th 2021 at the Collins Community Center in Collins from 1-4pm. Presentation by her children will be at 2pm.
