Marsha Rae
Kusserow
April 13, 1949 – November 29, 2025
Marsha Rae Kusserow, age 76, of Iowa Falls, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Hansen Family Medical Center in Iowa Falls.
Born on April 13, 1949, in Hampton, Iowa, Marsha was the cherished daughter of Dale Poncin and Dolores Brannick. She spent her formative years in Dows, where she grew up and attended school, building the foundation for a life filled with love, hard work, and devotion to family.
Marsha's compassionate spirit led her to work at a nursing home during her early years. She also held positions at the Motor Inn Hotel and the Red Rooster in Iowa Falls, where fate introduced her to Scott Kusserow. Their bond grew, and on April 16, 1981, Marsha and Scott were united in marriage in Iowa Falls, beginning a partnership marked by love, laughter, and shared adventures.
Marsha found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid gardener, delighting in growing her own vegetables. Her kitchen was a warm gathering place, known for the aroma of freshly baked treats and her legendary chili, potato salad, and tater-tot casserole—dishes that brought comfort to family and friends alike.
She enjoyed taking leisurely drives, sometimes letting the road lead her and Scott to a casino, where she would try her luck at the slot machines. Marsha's stubborn and feisty personality was well-known, and she approached life's challenges with determination and wit.
Above all, Marsha treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren. Their laughter and love were her greatest joys, and she embraced her role as grandmother with open arms and a generous heart. Family gatherings were brighter because of her presence, her stories, and her unwavering support.
Marsha is survived by her loving husband Scott; her children: Alan Bonin, Danny (Amy) Bonin, Kathy (Kurt) Kadolph, and Kimberly (John) Kusserow. She leaves behind her adored grandchildren: Alicia (Collin) Bonin, Dylan Bonin, Alex Clemons, BayLynn Bohling, Allyson Kadolph, and Trinity Kadolph. Marsha is also survived by her step-siblings: David (Linda) Brannick, Mark (Lisa) Brannick, Marlin Brannick, and Dennis (Kathy) Brannick.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Poncin; her mother, Dolores Brannick; her step-father, Marvin Brannick; and her sister-in-law, Linda Brannick.
A memorial service honoring Marsha's life will be held at the Zion United Church of Christ in Hubbard at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025. Family will greet friends at the church beginning at 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Following the service, everyone is invited a reception with refreshments at the church and continue to share memories of Marsha.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family, made payable to Scott Kusserow.
Arrangements are entrusted to Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada. Condolences may be shared with the family online at www.rasmussonfh.com.
Marsha's legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
