NEVADA - Marvel E. Dilling Post, 77, of Nevada, Iowa, died Thursday, November 15, 2007 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Services will be held Saturday, November 17th, 11:00 AM at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Visitation will be 9:30 to 11:00 prior to the service. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Albert Lee, Minnesota. Marvel was born February 7, 1930, in Linden, Iowa to Floyd Alfred & Freida Marie (Bach) Sloan. She attended East High School and graduated in 1948. She worked for Communications Data Services in Des Moines for 20 years. She married Clifford C. Dilling in 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa. He preceded her in death November 11, 1958. She married Alvin Post in 1967. They later divorced. Marvel loved her grandkids and her plants. She enjoyed reading a good novel and doing embroidery. Surviving are four sons: Clifford Curtis (Gerri) Dilling, Jr. of California; Jeff (Sharyl) Dilling of Des Moines, Iowa; Steve (Karen) Dilling of Des Moines, Iowa; and James (Debra) Dilling of Rochester, Minnesota; two daughters: Cheryl (Clarence) Sons of Jacksonville, Florida and Michelle Nyman of Nevada, Iowa; a brother, John Sloan of Mexico and a sister, Gladys Crandall of Ames, Iowa; and twelve grandchildren. Marvel was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, one grandson, Nicholas; two brothers, Howard and Dale; two sisters, Doris and Priscilla and one sister in infancy. The family request memorials be made to Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
