Marvin "Roger"

On August 7, 2026, the world lost a deeply good man. Marvin Roger Snyder—known to most as Roger, and affectionately as Butch to those closest to him—passed away, leaving a void that can only be filled by the rich, warm memories he gave us.
Roger lived his life with a gentle heart and a strong set of values. He was a devoted husband, a guiding father, a supportive brother, a dear cousin, and a loyal friend. Helping people wasn't just something Roger did; it was simply who he was. If you needed something fixed, built, or figured out, Roger was there, complete with a pocketful of nails and screws ready for whatever project the day brought his way. His favorite way to unwind was behind the wheel, taking quiet drives as the light faded.
Roger was reunited in rest with those who preceded him in death: his parents, Dorothy and Marvin Snyder; his granddaughter, Arora Shafer; and Donald Mahoney.
Roger’s greatest joy was his family and the friends who became family. He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Snyder; his daughters, Linda Robbins Mahoney, and Pamela (Steven) Shafer; his sister, Marilyn (Ron) Carr; and his cousin, Pamela Snyder Wymer.
He was a proud grandfather to Kelsey Robbins, Kane (Jazmine) Mahoney, Jolyne Mahoney, Meghan Mahoney, Cole (Hannah) Shafer, and Kody (Regina) Shafer, and a devoted great-grandfather to 12 great-grandchildren. He will also be deeply missed by his best friends, Marvin and Robbie Allie, his friends Clark and Randy Malone, as well as his dear adopted friends, Jeannie and Makenzie ("Jelly Bean").
A celebration of Roger’s life will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at the Pavilion at SCORE Park, 1543 Fawcett Pkwy, in Nevada.
Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada has been entrusted with caring for Roger. Condolences may be shared online with the family at www.rasmussonfh.com.
